About

Arthur’s Skips was founded in 1994 by Arthur Hartley and his son, James. They began trading with two vehicles and eight skips from premises at Warren Street, Sheffield. In 1996 Arthur’s Skips waste transfer station was set up at Stevenson Road. We worked from the two sites until 1998 when we outgrew those premises and moved to  Neepsend Lane. Over the years, we have gradually expanded and evolved to recycle different waste from all commercial and industrial sectors .

In 2002 we became a Limited Company. In 2004 we purchased further land at Hobson Avenue and currently work from the two sites. Both sites are situated within two miles of Sheffield City Centre. We are currently in the process of re-licensing and changing the structure of our Hobson Avenue Site in anticipation of future growth. We currently have over 2000 skips. We collect and recycle over 1,000s of tonnes of hazardous and difficult waste.

We have a good relationship with the Environment Agency and value any help and advice they are able to give us to assist with the smooth running of our operations. We provide local skip hire and waste management services in and around Sheffield & South Yorkshire.  Our growth and success has been as a result of putting our clients at the centre of our operation combined with continuous investment in innovative technology. This has enabled us to combine a deep understanding of our clients’ requirements with a uniquely flexible service that can be readily tailored to any organisational requirement, within an evolving market and ever changing regulation.

Understanding the market, focussing on our customers and leveraging our investment in technology has enabled us to provide a unique one-stop-shop solution; placing regulatory compliance, service quality and value above all else in the following ways:

Regulation

Waste Management is highly regulated. We are mindful of our responsibility to guide our clients through the maze of legislation to help ensure they are compliant, as well as making sure we handle all types of waste safely, whilst adopting environmental best practice.
